Discover Brittany’S Brick Oven Pizza - B-Bop’S

Walking into Brittany’S Brick Oven Pizza - B-Bop’S feels like stepping into the kind of neighborhood diner where everyone eventually becomes a regular. Tucked at 2034 Lanier Dr, Madison, IN 47250, United States, this spot has built a steady reputation for brick-oven flavor, relaxed vibes, and food that actually lives up to the local buzz. I’ve stopped in more than once after long drives along the Ohio River, and each visit has had the same comforting rhythm: friendly hellos, the smell of dough baking, and a menu that doesn’t try to be fancy, just good.

The brick oven is the heart of the kitchen, and it shows in every pizza that hits the table. Real brick ovens regularly reach temperatures above 700°F, which research from organizations like the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana notes is ideal for achieving a crisp crust while keeping the inside airy. You can taste that balance here. The crust has a slight char, the kind that pizza enthusiasts chase, yet it folds easily without collapsing under toppings. One of the cooks once explained how the dough rests for nearly a full day before baking, a method widely recommended by professional pizza chefs because longer fermentation improves flavor and digestibility.

The menu keeps things approachable. Classic pepperoni remains a top seller, but there are plenty of options for people who like to experiment. I’ve ordered the veggie-loaded pies during busy weekend nights and watched how the kitchen maintains consistency even when the dining room is packed. That consistency matters. According to National Restaurant Association data, repeat customers are more likely to return to places where food quality stays reliable, and that’s something this diner seems to understand well. Beyond pizza, you’ll find familiar comfort items that fit the diner side of the operation, making it easy for groups with mixed cravings.

Reviews around Madison often mention the staff, and for good reason. During one visit, I noticed a server explaining topping combinations to a first-time guest, using phrases like wood-fired flavor and house-made sauce without any sales pressure. That kind of interaction builds trust. It also reflects a broader industry trend supported by hospitality studies from Cornell University, which show that knowledgeable, friendly service directly improves guest satisfaction and online ratings.

Cleanliness and food safety are clearly taken seriously. Open kitchens can be risky if standards slip, but here everything feels well-managed. The USDA recommends keeping hot foods above 140°F, and pizzas come out steaming, straight from the oven to the table. While no restaurant is perfect, I haven’t noticed gaps in service or quality during my visits, even during peak hours. That said, wait times can stretch on Friday nights, which is something to plan for if you’re in a hurry.

The location works in its favor too. Being easy to reach makes it popular with locals and travelers alike, and that mix gives the dining room an easygoing energy. Families share booths, couples split pies, and solo diners sit comfortably with a slice and a drink. It’s not trying to be trendy, and that’s part of the charm. The atmosphere supports the food rather than distracting from it.

If you’re the type who values honest food, clear flavors, and a place that feels rooted in its community, this diner delivers. The combination of brick oven technique, thoughtful preparation, and consistent service explains why so many reviews keep circling back to the same point: people come once, then they come back.

  • Small restaurant with not a lot of seating inside so decided to do takeout. They have 2 sizes, small and large. They said personal size was enough for one person, I'd say get the bigger size for men. Pizza tasted great but wished I had more. The dessert was peanut butter cake and that was big and yummy. Great pizza restaurant in Madison. For a seat inside, either get here early or expect to wait.

  • If I could rate this shop higher than 5 it would be higher! Great tasting pizza, hundreds of options of toppings, more choices for crusts than I've ever seen including gluten free! Super nice staff, the owner was making pizzas and even stopped by our table and asked how things were. Super clean eat in area, clean bathroom. Loved it! And awesome fresh daily made desserts! Visited again this past weekend, under new ownership but pizza is still every bit as delicious and service was fabulous!

  • Our first time in but won’t be our last! I’ve seen this place on social media and VERY few places have 4.9 ⭐ google reviews. Delish we will be back! Staff was nice and attentive, we went at about 3 so it wasn’t real busy but still busy. I had “book em Dano” (no onion add pepperoni), husband had “a damn fine pizza”

  • Small little pizza place with Big atmosphere and large brick oven! Pizza is very hot and flavorful! Large selection of homemade dessert choices- with large serving. B-Bops does not skimp on anything. The staff is extremely friendly! Although they say it’s a hole in the wall they place- it is worth jogging off the beaten path or making a trip to Madison for a satisfying pizza!

  • We just moved to the area, and pizza is a mainstay for our family, so I, of course, had already scoped out the pizza scene. Immediately, a 4.9 rated brick-oven pizza joint stood out. It was a short 24 minutes from our new home, so we thought we'd take a break from unpacking and give it a try. What others have said is true. The pizza is very good, and the staff are amazing! They care about their service and are passionate about what they do. We were also glad we showed up a couple of minutes before they opened. It's not a very big space, and it didn't take long before it filled up. But don't let that deter you. Their system works. The cooks and owner are on top of orders and can throw pies out rather quickly with their custom brick oven (which you can check out from their viewing window). As for the pizza(s), it was very good. We prefer a sweet sauce, but we know that's personal preference. Don't let our preference deter you. The ingredients were noticeably fresh. You could tell that everything that could be made from scratch was. Top notch ingredients all the way around. Finally, the owner. We sat next to the viewing window, and he picked up on our curiosity. Not only did he make sure to show us our pizzas before and after cooking, but he also came to chat with us for a bit. Well done, sir! Customer service at its finest. We'll keep trying other pizza joints in the area, but I can guarantee we'll be back.

  • Visited Brittany's with the wife after I had enough of the airshow today. Got a large Pesto Perfection. The ingredients tasted very good. Artichokes used by restaurants are usually of low quality and are rubbery and bland, but the ones on this pizza were very lemony and zesty. I would recommend to maybe take out the kalamata olives? The combination of olives, pesto, feta makes it overpoweringly salty. I still smashed the pizza though. The Derby pie was also very delicious. The lady that waited on us was also very attentive and personable. Sorry for the bogus picture.

  • Stopped in for lunch, and were surprised with a very affordable lunch special! Personal pizza, side and drink for 12.50! Can’t beat that. Everything was delicious and service was very fast.

  • Had the appetizer holy cheesy bread and it was really good. I had the Hudson, wife had house special pulled BBQ pork pizza, son had the sinister six and they were all very delicious. Will definitely go back when in this area again.
